Since the company stared in 2020 with just a handful of homes to build, last year the company completed over 30 new homes and is in the process of constructing its first show home in Kaiapoi, due to be open later this year. Marketing co-ordinator Jade Jenkins puts the company’s growth down to its experienced team. “We employ our own team of builders rather than contractors and have considerable construction experience at every single level from builders to project managers to the company owner,” she says. Owned by Chris Cawthray, a qualified carpenter and Licensed Building Practitioner, Absolute Homes brings over 25 years of building experience to every project. Chris’ extensive knowledge and experience gained from running his own construction business in the United Kingdom for 15 years have shaped his decisive and results-driven leadership style. Jade says Chris always focuses on delivering quality outcomes for clients, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the building process. Working alongside Chris is wife Ange, the business manager and accountant of Absolute Homes. Ange, a qualified accountant with experience in both New Zealand and the UK, plays a crucial role in supporting the sustainability of the company and maintaining its strong work culture. The company’s new show home will be located in the Beachgrove subdivision in Kaiapoi on the outskirts of Christchurch. Situated on a site of around 400sqm the 170sqm show home will offer three bedrooms, open plan kitchen/living/dining, an ensuite off the master bedroom and an additional full bathroom with separate toilet and powder room. Due to open to the public in August, it will complement the existing sales suite in Darfield.
