Fowler Homes supports anyone at any stage of life into a new home, whether they are in the market for an investment property, a forever home, or a first home. It is something managing director Jason McGirr with wife & business partner Jen, along with Fowler Homes Queenstown Director Damian Yardley take pride in, turning dreams into reality, particularly for those who are taking that step for the first time. For some, the FirstHome Kiwi: concept has been a key factor, an initiative which supports people while they put a plan in place, and ultimately gives them a part-share ownership. It allows the client to have 80% ownership, with the added bonus of purchasing the rest over time. “It’s a solutions based model,” Jason said. Jason and Jen live in Queenstown, but also share their wealth of knowledge and expertise with the Southland market. Their business model covers everything from land acquisition, resource consent, land use consents, infrastructure development, building consents and the final product – building dream homes. Jason and Jen’s clients come from all walks of life, but in Southland 40-50% are first-home buyers. Some have taken advantage of one of Invercargill’s newest subdivisions, made up of 23 lots, with just five remaining. Each home features a modern, stylish design and all the warm comforts a house should bring, from fully insulated foundations to ensuites and laundry packages. “The really important thing is having your home fully insulated and using materials that are going to be long lasting. You are better to spend the money than regret it in 10 years’ time,” Jason said. The development that is helping get people on the property ladder is Scully Place, in Invercargill. T T to page 88 “It shows young people that there’s a whole community out there that cares, and that’s exactly what they need to hear. We couldn’t be more grateful.” Sections were titled just 12 months ago, and 18 have already sold. One of those properties still available but yet to take shape, is at 32 Scully Pl, featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a single garage - the perfect family home at the end of a cul-de-sac, with a wide sealed road. The property also neighbours the new Fowler Homes Southland showhome. In Queenstown, Fowler Homes’ clientele of first home buyers drops significantly to 1020%, due to the tougher market in the highly sought after Queenstown Lakes District. Jason said he was always actively looking across both Southland and Queenstown for sites to develop, ultimately doing his bit to keep up with housing demand.
