Westland Milk Products’ Westpro BioactiveMAX Colostrum is another product experiencing exceptional demand, Mr Li says, with customer loyalty driving interest well beyond current supply capabilities, presenting both a challenge and opportunity for growth in 2025. Alongside innovative new products, the retail butter market continues to offer substantial growth potential for Westland. Its Westgold butter brand has experienced impressive expansion and is now stocked in more than 3000 stores across America. In Australia, Westgold block butter sales grew 51% in the retail market, while its infused butter range’s distribution almost doubled. Overall, in 2024 Westgold sales grew 30% in revenue and 12% in volume compared to 2023 across all markets, indicating strong consumer demand that Westland plans to build upon in 2025. “The retail and food service channels present a number of opportunities as we look to maximise value across our key Westgold butter markets, while keeping an eye on future product opportunities,” says Mr Li. To support these growth initiatives, Westland has made substantial investments in digitalisation across its operations. These technological enhancements are particularly focused on quality assurance systems, with the company integrating new quality and laboratory information management systems. “The investment in quality digitalisation directly supports the overall value of our products and our reputation in global markets,” explains Mr Li. “Software upgrades will enable more proactive real-time improvements to support overall yield enhancement, while continuous operational improvements will help reduce losses across the production chain.” He says Westland Milk Products benefits significantly from its relationship with parent company Yili, which provides access to global innovation centres and quality processes. This partnership will be a critical advantage in 2025 as the company develops new products and explores new markets. He says the focus on quality culture and processes is an area where Westland Milk Products has particularly benefited from Yili’s expertise. “Quality culture and process are areas of the business that Yili prides itself on, and we are fortunate to be able to access their perspective.” Proud to be associated with Projects & Maintenance at Westland Milk Products Ltd dwan.andrews@xtra.co.nz 59 Revell Street +64 3-755 8397 Providing the safest and most efficient scaffolding solutions for your site.
