An ideal starting point for new-home journeys is Stonewood Homes North Canterbury’s beautiful new showroom. This modern showstopper on a prime High Street site in Rangiora won Stonewood’s Showroom of the Year in 2024. The smart and contemporary space is designed to help clients hone their vision and gain a tactile sense of what’s available, with a range of fixtures, fittings and finish options on display. Aaron and Lewis say it is popular with clients, giving momentum to sales, particularly now the local market is showing signs of growth. “We’ve had enquiries for a couple of 500sqm homes and we’re currently building a 385sqm home for clients near Oxford,” says Aaron. This latest project, for dairy farmers Harry and Clare Meijer, is due to be completed by mid-August. Distinctively clad in stylish brick, schist, Linea and brushed concrete, this exceptional home boasts plenty of space, including 4.2m high ceilings in kitchen/dining/lounge areas. The layout includes four bedrooms, three living spaces, office, two- to three-car garaging, roomy laundry, stone chimneys and double alfresco areas for fabulous indoor/outdoor living. The family bedrooms are grouped around a central activity area, with the large master suite privately located at the other end of the house. Aaron and Lewis bring considerable experience and energy to projects like this and can build new homes anywhere from Methven to Hanmer, offering a smooth design-and-build process, tailored to clients’ lifestyle needs. The two brothers grew up in North Canterbury, and with builders in their extended family, gravitated to the construction sector – Aaron forged a sales career in building supplies and as a home sales consultant, while Lewis left school to do a building apprenticeship. After working for another builder, he went out on his own and then started doing contract building work for the same company where Aaron worked selling homes. “So, we worked together for six or seven years before starting this franchise,” explains Aaron. “We understand each other and work well together.” Supporting them at Stonewood Homes is a trusted team of local subcontractors Aaron and Lewis have worked with over many years. TM Leading the way in custom joinery for over 25 years. Committed to delivering high quality products & outstanding service. NELSON | BLENHEIM | CHRISTCHURCH | CROMWELL | AUCKLAND “We have good relationships with all of them and know their work and its quality.” Aaron loves Stonewood’s home design-andsales system, HOMEi, which makes it easy to customise a wide choice of standard plans. “People may decide to add a room or move a window, and they can select particular product options. We can quickly generate a build price from that – all within the first five minutes of meeting them. It gives real clarity on cost from the outset. From there, we can also bring up a full 3D render of the house so people can see what it will look like.” Stonewood Homes North Canterbury offers fixed-price contracts and clear timelines that reflect their efficient process. “Last year, we met some clients at the end of July, on a Friday. We drew up a plan over the weekend, priced it and gave it to them on the Monday. By the following Friday we had a signed agreement. From first meeting to project completion took just 22 weeks – and the clients absolutely love it,” says Aaron. This stunning 175sqm custom home on a 10-acre block at Springbank is perfect for family living with three bedrooms, office, large open-plan kitchen/dining/living, two bathrooms and separate toilet. Looking ahead, their goal is to keep growing and doing what they do best. “It’s all about quality over quantity, and building really good homes,” says Lewis.
