RAD Construction BUILDING RAD Construction of Twizel has grown from a one-man operation established in 2008 to an accomplished design-andbuild company with a skilled 12-person team, delivering excellence in new residential, renovation and light commercial projects throughout the Mackenzie District. Led by owner Rob Davis, RAD Construction provides a full spectrum of design-and-build services, including move-in-ready homes within local subdivisions. With a solid base in Twizel, RAD Construction has an extensive portfolio of successful high-end custom residential, renovations, alterations, light commercial and landscaping projects. As a licensed building practitioner and member of Master Builders, Rob places a strong emphasis on delivering quality and fostering a culture of professionalism. Rob’s unique working background within DOC Alpine Rescue and the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre gives him an innate understanding of leadership, structure, and resilience, values he instils broadly across his building company today. Resident in the Mackenzie District for 24 years, Rob has seen Twizel evolve from its “hydro town” origins into a desirable lifestyle hub surrounded by lakes and ski fields – an attractive proposition that has seen an increase in families, remote workers, holiday makers and lifestyle homesteaders moving to the region over recent decades. In response, Twizel has developed new housing subdivisions in which RAD Construction is building homes, whether client builds or move-in-ready spec homes. A recently sold spec home on Lakeland Ave is one such example says Rob, a 229sqm highend home with three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a double garage with built-in spa and entertainment features, underfloor heating, ducted heat pumps, and full insulation, including internal walls. Setting a new bar for what a spec home can be in a rural service town, Lakeland Ave is architecturally designed by Ken Turnbull of Architecture by Design. A second similar project is underway just around the corner. Another recent build at McHutchenson Way, Twizel is a 300sqm family home across three split levels within a single storey. “This included complex design elements like angled walls and flat roof but with a corkscrew twist. A very striking look,” says Rob. Another RAD Construction project nearing completion comprises two 67sqm homes at Manuka Terrace, close to the shorelines of Lake Ohau. “These are two-bedroom, standalone family homes with high-end finishes, for two families that have bought into one section.” Whether it’s custom homes, renovations and alterations or light commercial work, RAD Construction delivers premium results backed by process, professionalism, and a passion for quality. RAD’s admin team ensures simultaneous project management and smooth planning before the first nail is struck. The RAD Construction crew has an average age of around 36 years, so is a mature, experienced team, says Rob. “I’d welcome another four or six qualified builders to the team for an immediate start in the next couple of months if they’re out there reading this.” Proudly supporting RAD Building Ltd 03 689 7077 or 027 689 7069 KenT_design@xtra.co.nz 713 Lower Hook Road, RD8 Waimate Providing expertise in designing your new home or renovation.
