The development sits on its existing Lunns Road site in Middleton, where the company has grown steadily over decades of expansion. Steve says the existing office footprint at Lunns Road includes a 65-year-old building, which houses around half the office staff, while the remainder work from portable buildings that have been added incrementally as growth demanded more space. The new, single-storey office building will span 3400sqm and is designed for between 165 and 175 office staff. Facilities include a cafeteria, meeting rooms, dedicated boardroom, kitchenettes, toilets and endof-trip amenities, as well as increased visitor parking capacity. “The new facility will transform how teams work together by bringing all office staff under one roof for the first time, improving collaboration, efficiency and camaraderie,” says Steve. Sustainability features include a 250kW solar panel array that augments a 500kW array installed on an adjacent building last year, high-spec acoustic treatment and careful daylighting design through skylights and extensive glazing to improve workplace comfort and efficiency. It comes on the back of a recently completed 7400sqm factory building, which has significantly expanded production capacity, enabling output to increase by around 38%. The facility was completed around nine months ago, and new equipment is currently being installed and commissioned with full capacity expected within the next 12 months. Around 190 staff members operate across a total of three factory buildings across two sites. HamiltonJet is recognised internationally for its waterjet propulsion systems, which are widely used in fast ferries, military craft, patrol vessels, rescue boats and specialist commercial applications. Its systems are known for high manoeuvrability, shallow water capability and efficiency at speed, and are increasingly integrated with advanced digital controls and vessel automation technologies. The company also continues to invest, ensuring its technology evolves alongside changing demands for lower emissions, improved performance and greater operational flexibility across global marine markets.
