| 119 COMMUNITY The Croft: Timaru Construction Considerable effort would be taken to restore the atmosphere and elegance of the original residence. “We are halfway to reaching our fundraising goal of $1.2M.” However, refurbishment is not the only project taking shape at The Croft this year. A steward programme, supported by Harcourts Blackham & Co, will be announced in February, allowing people and businesses to bid for one of four steward roles. Stewards will support the efforts of The Croft’s 150 volunteers, who collectively donate more than 6500 hours every year. They will also assist other non-profit organisations and advocate for the residents to live out longer, healthier and more meaningful lives.
