| 19 Apex Water REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Founded in 2019 by John Tu’Ungafasi, Magic Engineering, has evolved from a one-man operation to a team of 38 highly skilled tradesmen, designers and project managers, operating from a 1000sqm workshop in Onehunga, and undertaking an impressive array of projects. “We specialise in the custom design and fabrication of di erent types of metals and process pipework including stainless, carbon, and structural steel,” says John. “We also fabricate conveyors and tanks, provide pipe welding and the assembly of mobile industrial machinery. Everything is designed and fabricated within the workshop, and we travel throughout the country to complete the installation of the project on site. “In addition to our engineering expertise, our team is equipped with advanced 3D and CAD design software, and our ticketed welder is skilled in all types of welding, including TIG, MIG, ARC, and brazing. We also have the ability to laser cut, fold, custom build, and form metal to any shape to suit the client’s project. When it comes to inishing, we can create any inish you need for stainless steel, including powder coating, electric polishing, and painting.” Magic Engineering has completed a range of successful projects for various industries including water, dairy, food, beverage, building, pharmaceuticals and FromOne-Man Operation to Industry Leader manufacturing, with Apex Water being a key client from the very beginning. “Over that time we have undertaken ninety percent of Apex’s mechanical work including the design and fabrication of the pipework to run the water treatment plants they have been contracted to build. Our scope of work also includes the installation of the pipework and pumps, build the chemical dosing plants, and ensure the plant is operating the way it was designed to do, before handing over to the developer. Our last project for Apex water was the new water and wastewater treatment plants for the Karaka North Village development. We’re now involved in the Raglan Water Treatment plant for Apex.” John says communication between Magic Engineering and its clients has been key from the very start. “Our primary focus is our customers and the relationship that we build as we journey through each project together. Listening to our clients ensures we meet all their needs. Our design and fabrication team are skilled in tailoring to the needs of all our clients. If our design team can draw it, our fabrication team can make it. We can take a sketch, concept or design intent and model those into 3D CAD SolidWorks, to ensure the inal product will look and function as intended.” WHERE MAGIC MEETS ENGINEERING.
