Over the past three decades, Dean has won respect in the region for his clear, honest and straightforward way of working. The ability to manage complex Wānaka architectural builds and their budgets for both local and absentee homeowners is another trademark skill that’s paved the way to high levels of client trust and satisfaction. At Dean’s side in the business, Robyn Millar is a true Wānaka local and a proud mum of three boys with a strong background in customer service and management. Level Construction works tirelessly to bring exceptional homes to life. This dedication can be seen in an award winning Wānaka home built by their team and completed in collaboration with architects Roberts Gray. The level of craftmanship displayed throughout construction has resulted in a home build of the highest standard. At the Master Builders House of the Year 2024 competition, the outstanding home (‘Sanctuary central’) took out the regional supreme title and made the Top 100 list as well as winning its national category, a national bathroom excellence award and a slew of regional awards. Roberts Gray Architects also won regional and national awards for this project (Wānaka S.K.I. House) at the 2024 Architecture Awards. Designed as an intergenerational retreat and built on land lived on by the client for more than 20 years, this adaptable 309sqm home was meticulously crafted by Level Construction and their team. The street-facing façade of solid masonry forms and timber screens delivers privacy for the homeowners along with protection from the elements. A mudroom leads to a light- illed interior with framed views of the mountains. Stone steps link a series of garden courtyards leading to the heart of the three-bedroom home. Environmental and sustainable features include double-skin construction, durable Japanese charred cedar, thermally broken joinery and solar panels. Commenting on their success at the House of the Year 2024, Dean and Robyn say they are “beyond proud”. The couple have also acknowledged the hard work of their core team. “This project stands as a testament to our commitment to quality and our passion for building homes that are as beautiful as they are functional. This Wānaka sanctuary is a true family retreat, a place for living, sharing and creating cherished memories.” CONTACT Level Construction Dean Millar: 021 441 570 Robyn Millar: 0275 766 966 www.levelconstruction.co.nz 1 Umbers Street, Wanaka | 021 441 570 build@levelconstruction.co.nz levelconstruction.co.nz LISTEN.
