The move grows the company’s volume of residential designs, increasing the number of one- to five-bedroom plans and bringing in new commercial accommodation solutions, positioning Laing Properties as a leader in the prefabricated home industry, says managing director Myles Laing. “We have a range of designs and construction methods perfectly suited to commercial needs and minimising disruption to a business’s operations,” says Myles. “The commercial range spans from single-bedroom units under 25sqm to multi-room complexes, catering to various uses, including short-term accommodation, holiday homes and staff housing, such as rural and farm workers or transient workforces in tourist destinations.” Alongside its commercial offerings, Genius Homes brings an extensive residential catalogue featuring one- to five-bedroom home options and farm homes, complementing Laing Properties’ existing range. Laing Properties was registered in 1984 and was originally set up to develop bare industrial land for Laing Contracting Ltd. In 1987, Laing Contracting Ltd established Laing Building Relocation before re-naming the business Laing Properties in 1992. Fast forward 32 years to where Laing Properties has further strengthened its position in the market with the opening of the South Island’s largest purpose-built facility for prefabricated construction and storage of second-hand buildings for refurbishment works. Located in Rolleston’s Tawhiri industrial development, the headquarters spans 18,388sqm and features a 420sqm office, a 780sqm warehouse and storage facility and yard space. “This site allows us to construct a large number of prefabricated buildings and store existing pre-owned buildings in one dedicated space. “:A centralised location allowing us to develop and optimise our systems and processes, delivering efficiency to our clients,” says Myles. Laing Properties has extensive experience in the construction and delivery of large-scale projects. It ccurrently has under construction a 185sqm single-piece passive design house, demonstrating the company’. “’This is very large for a single-piece transportable building; however, we want people to understand they don’t have to be limited by size when thinking about a transportable building – they can go big and have the features they want,” says Myles. Despite the prefabricated nature of its builds, the company maintains a strong focus on customisation. “We listen to our clients and think outside the box. Every client is treated as an individual so they can customise their home to suit their needs,” says Myles. “We team with clients from the very early stages of their project and help them to solve problems from day one. “We work closely with architects to maintain the integrity of their designs within budget, and we help developers optimise their investment by providing the best options to achieve their goals.” Proudly supporting Laing Properties Ltd Wayne Buchanan | 53A Curries Road, Christchurch 021 277 0505 or 03 381 8277 | wayneb@steel-structures.co.nz Professionals in structural steel, balustrading and house beams with over 30 years combined experience.
