Since then, it has developed into a comprehensive business, offering residential and light commercial solutions – both new prefabricated and second-hand homes and buildings. The business remains firmly in family hands, owned by founding members Grant and Polly Laing, alongside their son Myles and his wife Lucinda. It employs a team of 32 staff, including its own house-shifting specialists. To showcase its expanded range and design and building experience, Laing Propertieshas installed its first show home at 12 Henare Drive, Rolleston, with plans for a second later this year. The current show home is 111sqm Escape design, which Myles describes as the perfect blend of modern design and warm tones. “The exterior showcases a sophisticated contrast of Flaxpod and Resene Half Black White, emphasising the building’s distinctive architecture. Inside, there is a breathtaking kitchen that blends warm timber with rich dark panelling. A marbled laminate bench top and a striking 3D chevron white tile backsplash add a touch of elegance, while the seamless vinyl planking perfectly unifies the space.” The new show home will feature a 90sqm secondary dwelling complete with a 22sqm covered verandah.
