Infinity’s newest development project in Christchurch, Belfast subdivision, continues to experience strong demand, says CEO Paul Croft. The first release of 81 sections sold out quicker than expected and 71 additional sections are due to be released soon. “The reception to Belfast subdivision has been really strong,” says Paul. “This has been a reflection of Belfast’s excellent location.” The development has been a bit unusual for Infinity in that it purchased Belfast once the masterplan had been completed. “This essentially de-risked the project and fast tracked it. Infinity has a good reputation for solving challenging projects due to our track record and relationships with key people,” explains Paul. He says the new Belfast subdivision offers a rare opportunity to purchase land in Christchurch’s sought after northern corridor within this well-established suburb. The area has a semi-rural, sunny northerly aspect. The Belfast subdivision site comprises an area of approximately 16.9 ha and will offer a total of 252 residential lots. It includes a new playground and picnic area. Importantly it is near significant infrastructure. A new Countdown has just been built, a Green Star rated supermarket, the first of its kind in Christchurch, and work is progressing on two new schools – Pītau-Allenvale School which provides for specialist education for Ongoing Resourcing Scheme (ORS) funded students and Belfast (senior) School for years 5-8. There is also a medical centre and a Radius Healthcare retirement village proposed nearby meaning great amenities for anybody purchasing a section in Belfast subdivision, says Infinity’s Sales Manager Patrick Waser. Other services and amenities nearby include St Bede’s College, Shenley Reserve children’s playground, Northwood Supa Centre, New World supermarket, Clearwater Resort and golf course, Belfast Business Park, Sheldon Park including Belfast Bowling Club and Belfast Rugby Football Clubrooms. “Belfast is extremely well located in Christchurch being approximately 9km north of the Christchurch CBD and 14km northeast of Christchurch International Airport. It is near two of the city’s significant arterial routes – The Northern Arterial and the Western Belfast Bypass,” says Patrick. People can purchase in Belfast subdivision direct from Infinity or through building company partners, which are offering a range of house and land packages. “If they choose a house and land package people work directly with the building company, select the house type they like and pay a fixed price for the section with a completed house on it,” says Patrick. “They can also purchase a section direct from us and select the builder of their choice if they prefer.” Construction of homes on sections from the first release is underway with titles expected to be issued in the next couple of months. Infinity is also working on the last stage of its significant Ravenswood project in the Waimakariri District. With only 200 sections remaining in the 1300-section subdivision, Ravenswood is already a thriving community, says Patrick. “The retail and commercial area of Ravenswood – called Ravenswood Central - is coming along in leaps and bounds too. New World, McDonald’s and BP are already well established but some new kids on the block will soon be joining them. Joe’s Garage, The Coffee Club and other delicious eateries will be opening in the next few months, followed by Harvey Norman, Lone Star and Gull service station.” Another retail area is due to begin construction next year and it already has a number of spaces leased, including a Unichem Pharmacy, says Patrick. Uniquely Ravenswood will also have a 240-unit retirement village alongside its 20ha retail and commercial centre.
