Gibbston Valley Resort REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Framed by the spectacular Remarkables mountain range and the mighty Kawarau River, Gibbston Valley Resort is an ambitious and grand lifestyle development that strives to deliver uniqueness on a global level. Set within a sprawling 1000-acre station surrounding the Gibbston Valley Winery, the Gibbston Valley Resort zone encompasses 300 acres, with all residents and visitors at liberty to roam and explore the expansive country playground on their doorstep. The Gibbston Valley Winery and its highclass restaurants, along with the more recently developed Gibbston Valley Lodge & Spa also form part of the resort offering. Being progressively developed, the resort’s master plan includes a range of free-hold sections and high-end homes; luxury visitor accommodation; a premium 9-hole golf course and Clubhouse; and Vintner’s Village, a central and commercial hub for the resort and wider community that will encompass cafés and artisan shops. The Resort’s first development stage was the Reserve, a residential development embracing 33 north-facing sections overlooking the golf course, with sections ranging from 1500 to 2000 square metres. “Within the Reserve there is a subdevelopment called Fairway View Villas, where some of the larger Lots will be subdivided into 1000sqm sections, on average, to accommodate two and three bedroom duplex villas,” says Michelle Kirkpatrick, Sales and Marketing Manager at Gibbson Valley Winery. “There are currently eight villas in total, designed by Condon Scott, and we’re marketing four of those. Price points for two bedroom/ two bathroom start at $2.2 million, and three bedroom/three bathroom start at $2.7 million. The next stage, which we will be potentially releasing later in the year will be The Rockery Villas. Very much in the Central Otago style, The Rockery will encompass twenty luxury two or three bedroom duplex villas, overlooking water spring features, surrounded by schist, and within walking distance to the Clubhouse.” The exclusive Greg Turner designed 9-hole golf course is due for completion in April this year and ready to be enjoyed by the end of the year. Overlooking the Kawerau River, the course boasts spectacular views the envy of any other golf course, and has been uniquely developed to embrace the area’s historic gold mining past, cleverly incorporating old tailing areas and other mining artefacts. “From some points, you look right down the Gibbston region to the beginning of the Kawerau Gorge, and river. Other parts look back to the Judge and Jury, a rocky outcrop overlooking the Kawerau River near the historic bridge.” Currently under construction with completion expected by the end of this year or very early next, the members Clubhouse overlooks the practice green, and is set amongst established poplar trees, surrounded by schist. Designed by award-winning Wanaka practice Condon Scott the interior has been designed by leading Auckland based interior designed specialist Space Studio. “Membership of the Clubhouse is exclusive to residents,” says Michelle. “The Clubhouse is designed for socialising, and enjoying the company of others. Within the facility there are wide open spaces, a bar and meeting room, pool table, and well-equipped gymnasium. Nestled under a stand of poplar trees, there’s a large sunken fire pit and BBQ area, swimming pool and jacuzzi. Guests staying at any one of the Resort’s facilities, including the Lodge and Spa, also may have access to the Golf Course facilities.” Accessed by underpass from the residential area, a future development will be the Vintners Village which will include café’s, artisan shops, and bespoke outlets, spa and gymnasium facility, and become the central and commercial hub for the resort and wider community. Directly behind the Vintners Village will be the entertainment zone where the much-loved Gibbston Valley Winery Summer Concerts will be held, and where hopefully Gibbston Valley Wine & Food Festival will be reintroduced. “Price points for two bedroom/two bathroom start at $2.2 million, and three bedroom/three bathroom start at $2.7 million.” Proudly supporting Gibbston Valley Resort Eco Homes by Arbol clad in Spotted Gum 021 398 800 martin@lmatimber.co.nz www.lmatimber.co.nz Reclaimed & Sustainably Sourced Australian Hardwoods Cladding • Decking Structural Beams / Posts • Flooring
