Since these beginnings the partnership has grown with the introduction of new technology and expansion in both businesses.” He says this includes things like regularly reporting onmetal stock volumes in various yards around Canterbury and extraction sites, helping Taggart meet production goals and compliancemonitoring KPIs. In addition the use of Civil Solutionz’s advanced drone technology has decreased cost, increased safety and productivity, says Craig. “The decision to invest heavily in this equipment in its infancy enabled us to work for nearly every large quarry business in New Zealand.” Machine control has been a signi icant factor in the quality of inished products delivered and the timeliness of civil projects for Taggart. The go-to surveying experts “At Civil Solutionz we also provides data management and iltering service to contractors to enable them to best utilise their equipment to its maximumcapabilities. Typically this is initial set up of data iles, installation of hardware on site and calibration of equipment plus any trouble shooting and quality assurance as the site progresses. Many contractors fall into the trap of thinking that the data from the consultant will plug straight into their equipment and don’t realise howmuch tiding up of the data iles may be required before they can be used e ectively.” The other area that both businesses have grown into together has been demolition, andmonitoring. “Since the heady days of the earthquake recovery work, where Civil Solutionz basically wrote themanual on high production topographical survey work, we have continued to do this for the same consultants, securing nearly every job we bid on. Now however the demolition jobs aremore complex and require greater expertise to ensure safe, on time and budget completion. We currently are assisting in this process by precisemonitoring of the current city centre demolition job of the old Rydges hotel and car park site. This has multiple challenges, due to access restraints, existing natural vibration levels, limited sight lines etc.” Craig says that with all Civil Solutionz survey sta having aminimumof 20 years civil experience Civil Solutionz can o er advice and solutions to any civil survey problemNew Zealand wide.
