Plumb Right T T Kelly Deeks CONTRACTING When it comes to finding a trusted tradesman, a good recommendation is worth its weight in gold. Christchurch plumbing company Plumb Right has been recommended with a staggering 89 five-star Google reviews, putting the company in the sights of The Most Trusted Business Awards, and taking out the overall Canterbury Most Trusted Business Award and coming runner up as New Zealand’s Most Trusted Business. “I thought it would be a good exercise but I wasn’t expecting to win,” says Plumb Right owner Hamish McPherson. “We’ve had some good reviews where people think we offer a prompt response and good value, and we do have a good team. We just like to do it once and do it right, providing honest advice on how to get the best performance out of your plumbing system.” Hamish is a highly knowledgeable and well-practised certifying plumber with 34 years of industry experience. He set up Plumb Right in 2002 and along with his team Jamie and Jax, they all get great satisfaction from providing plumbing solutions for all types of tasks and budgets. The Most Trusted Business Awards flagged Plumb Right as a potential winner due to its huge amount of five-star Google reviews, and invited Hamish to enter the competition. He had to approach his customers and ask them to vote. “I don’t actually have email addresses for half my database because we’ve been around for so long, so I emailed my recent customers and asked them to vote for us. Half the people who voted had never left a Google review in their life but they wanted to support us.” Plumb Right won the regional Most Trusted Business by getting the most five-star reviews in Canterbury, and came in second place in the national competition with a few less reviews than the overall winner, Tauranga’s ROAR Pet Food. Plumb Right customers gave 95 five-star reviews and various accolades including ‘exceptional service’, ‘careful work’, ‘prompt and reliable’, ‘professional and friendly’, and ‘would give 10 stars if I could’. Google reviewers cite excellent communication, great workmanship, and going the extra mile to help out. Hamish has been advertising his services since the Yellow Pages days and he says Google reviews really work, with Plumb Right getting a job a day from them. Weirdly enough, he decided to pay for a Google Ad late last year and says as soon as that went live, enquiry stopped. “People don’t want to look at an ad,” he says. “They want to look at organic reviews and see who looks good. An ad doesn’t do that.” Today Plumb Right navigates its way around a plumbing fittings industry that’s flooded with low-priced, low-quality products to find solutions for its clients that can offer longevity, good value, and good looks. “People spend good money on their bathrooms and kitchens and we don’t want them to end up with a good-looking product that doesn’t perform,” Hamish says. “If you contact us at the start of your project, we can give you down to earth advice about what will and won’t work, and help you choose the best product for your system and your budget.” “People spend good money on their bathrooms and kitchens and we don’t want them to end up with a good-looking product that doesn’t perform.” Superior Standards.
