Designed by Andrew Ayoub of AA Architecture Ltd and built by Structur Building, Matt’s four-and-a-half-bedroom, 300 sq. metre home boasts state-of-the-art features, including security cameras throughout and voice-activated functionality for doors, blinds, heating, lighting, and audio systems. “The bathrooms are pretty nice, as you could probably imagine for a plumber’s house,” says Matt, although he is not a braggart about it, he admits it is “certainly light years ahead of anything I’ve ever done.” Shower mixers that heat water to your preferred temperature and have anti-scalding technology so there’s never any surprise sting, plus programmable bath taps that will run a bath to the perfect temperature, then turn itself off. “It’s pretty impressive what they can do now,” says Matt, “it can also tell you how much water you’re using and find efficiencies.” A fan of smart home tech, Chris Lamb of CJL Electrical installed electrics and tech throughout, overcoming any challenges the unprecedented install would inevitably bring, while Mico supplied front of wall products and Dux the plumbing pipework. “It’s not so much a showcase, it’s just what I’m into,” says Matt. “i-Plumb does have a passion for doing beautiful stuff and we like a challenge.” “There was no real design plan with my place, we just chose which products we liked best, and took a do it once and do it right approach and we nailed it.” Demonstrating their capabilities and passion for doing everyday things differently, i-Plumb Plumbing and Gas are your trusted partner in innovation.
