T T from page 22 Barrett Homes Cromwell: Shannon Farm REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT “It’s only a 350-square-metre site, and the house is 210 squares, but it doesn’t feel hemmed in. “It’s two-storeyed, with schist and cedar, and alfresco living, with an outdoor fire.” Attention is now shifting towards Shannon Farm, a newly consented neighbourhood in cherry-orchard country at the base of the Pisa Range on Cromwell’s outskirts. “We’re planning to build a new show home in Shannon Farm, and we’re excited about that subdivision, which is shaping up to be quite spectacular,” Dee says. Sections sizes will be larger – starting at 1500sqm and going upwards of three hectares – with a nod to the open nature of the natural environment surrounding them. “It’s quite a different feel, for a different market.” Central Otago is rapidly growing, which is obviously good for business, but Jason and Dee never want to take their community for granted.
