T Steady growth - page 14 Currently, the winery has 125,000 litre and 250,000 litre tanks, supplied by Crown. Some 500,000 litre tanks will be installed in the next stage. The integrated processing equipment, including 60 tonne central membrane presses, was sourced from Della Toffla, Italy. “The presses are extremely good at ex- tracting the most amount of juice in as short a time as possible,” Alister observes, noting that this type of press is also used at several other Marlborough wineries. Interest has been steadily growing in the new winery. “Once we started to build it and everyone could see it out of the ground and that we were serious about getting it built, then we started to get contracts signed and a lot more interest than just when we had plans on paper,” says Louise. The new winery is an exciting development for the region. As NZW grows, it is also doing so with an awareness of the environment in which it is operating.
