REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT CMT Group NZ MC Construction, which was initially founded in 1999 by another family member, built a solid reputation for providing quality construc- tion work throughout the Marlborough region and was purchased in 2011. MC Construction tackles a range of projects including com- mercial and residential building, education provider builds, chemical and pump sheds and more. On April 1, 2018 Conpavers, MC Con- struction and Total Tactilez were merged and rebranded as CMT Group NZ Ltd. Over the years the Group has been involved in some significant projects. It assisted with the Canterbury earthquake rebuild programme, which saw it expand and add its third branch in Christchurch in 2012. Jonathan says that the point of difference CMT Group can offer is it’s a single company that can take care of both civil developments and building construction on a single project meaning no need to outsource to other con- tractors. Examples of this include various BP service stations across the country, the new Kaikoura Aquatic Centre, and the Hydralada office buildings in Marlborough to name a few. He says that with the next generation now contributing to the management the group is set for further growth for many years to come. Sons Anton (contracts manager), Jayden (sales and finance) and Kenley (project manager) are directors as well as taking key roles. Rochelle takes on the administration for the Group. Various other family members are also involved in all aspects of the business. Jonathan says that all staff are valued and regarded as the backbone of the business. Some staff, suppliers, and clients have been with the company for the majority of two decades and he says that the family is very grateful for their input to help CMT achieve the 25-year milestone. “We are fortunate enough to have a large team with a very diverse range of skills, trade qualifications and numerous years of industry experience.
