The new mixed-use development is situated between Tay Street and Esk Street, with Dee Street and Kevin Street as boundaries. Company general manager Dave Mather says that it was Beattie Air’s expertise and reputation for prioritising looking after its customers’ assets for life that were key factors in securing the contract. “We pride ourselves on delivering a good quality service and outstanding outcomes for our clients,” he says. Although Invercargill Central is a large project, due to upfront investment in drawings and coordination, submissions, procurement and forward planning the project has run smoothly, says Dave. This saw the company work with Cosgroves Consulting, the mechanical consultants and designers on the project. Equipment and materials were secured early to avoid cost luctuations. Beattie Air has been project managing the installation of the air conditioning aspect of the project including roof package units and VRF air conditioning with a large amount of ductwork and fresh air systems. It has a manager on site and has sought to use as many local contractors as possible including Nind Electrical that are completing the electrical side of the project. The project is due for completion by end of year. “This project really shows our strength in project and site management. That's the key to success on a project like this, good communication and working collaboratively as a team.” Established in 1988 as a trade installer of residential and commercial air conditioning systems, Beattie Air has expanded its operation to provide a high level of commercial and residential HVAC systems.
