Operations manager Tim Baker says the Christchurch-based company, which was established 18 years ago, has just completed a busy round of maintenance for plants which either shut down or concentrate on maintenance during the winter period. “We specialise in high-pressure pipe work, for both the commercial and industrial industries in both carbon steel and stainless steel as well as hygiene pipework for the dairy and food grade industries. While some of Purge Rite's major clients have a winter shutdown, but medium density ibreboard manufacturer Daiken New Zealand schedules planned maintenance regardless of the season or time of year. Purge Rite has been a key part of this, as well as breakdown work for about the past eight years, in addition to working on speci ic projects when needed. “We do all their steam pipe, oil lines, chemical pipework and we also do quite a bit of their ducting work for the movement of product throughout their plant. This long-standing relationship, including the rapport that has been created with Daiken's sta has bene ited both companies, Tim says. While some companies have struggled with the supply of materials during the covid pandemic, Purge Rite Pipe Services collaborates closely with its suppliers, especially if larger quantity of pipes are involved and have been fortunate not to have had any shortages in this area.
