Chalfont Construction has just released its first development to the market. Located at 163-164 Marine Parade, New Brighton, Christchurch, the premium development offers six family-sized, three bedroom townhouses. “New Brighton is a growing and vibrant beachside community. The New Brighton Regeneration Project is transforming the seaside village with significant investment being made through Council projects like the He Puna Taimoana hot pools. “There is also a growing number of private developments like ‘The Beach House’ which includes hospitality outlets, shops and an event venue, which will make New Brighton a really exciting destination,” says Chalfont Construction director Scott Davison. He says the development sets itself apart from the rest as it offers a spacious 120m2 homes with great indoor outdoor flow and built to a higher specification than is the norm with , Espan tray cladding, tiled bathrooms, kwila decks and an internal access garage with a laundry. There are also thoughtful touches such as additional covered outdoor deck space including an outdoor shower. With the beach just a short walk through the sand dunes it’s seaside living at its best, says Scott. “We focus on building quality spacious homes suitable for owner occupiers including first home buyers as well as investors who are looking for a great yield.” Scott, a civil engineer by trade, started Chalfont Construction company in 2019 right in the middle of the first Covid-19 lockdown. It was a bold move that paid off. Starting with a couple of spec builds on land he owned the company has grown from there. One of Chalfont Construction’s points of difference is its personal and down to earth approach to the build process. Scott is a hands-on director and people won’t be dealing with a shiny shoed sales rep. He comes from a farming background where hard work, integrity and honesty were deeply engrained in his values. With over 10 years in the construction industry, he brings a wealth of knowledge across all aspects of each build. “Dealing with Chalfont means people will be dealing directly with me. I make sure each house is built as if it was my own and personally check each completed build thoroughly before the client moves in to confirm it’s up to a high standard,” he says. Whether it’s a development project, spec home or a design and build for a client, Scott places a great deal of emphasis on the design process. “We develop relationships with the client from the outset and work through the design process, making sure their home meets their key wants and needs,” he says. For example the New Brighton homes have been designed to be low maintenance with the top storey colorsteel Espan tray cladding. Scott says this eliminates the need for scaffolding or painting down the track. The homes are carefully orientated for afternoon sun and protection from the easterly wind. Chalfont Construction clients are updated regularly ensuring all questions are answered and there are no surprises along the way. It’s part of the company’s philosophy of simplifying the new build process. Scott says that his dedicated team has been handpicked for their high level of professionalism and exceptional craftsmanship. Chalfont Construction can assist clients with finding land and will happily evaluate and offer expertise around ground conditions, guiding people away from common mistakes when looking at sections. Based in Diamond Harbour, Chalfont Construction works Canterbury wide. It has a number of projects underway: a 240sqm three bedroom hill build in Diamond Harbour designed for sun and views and wind; two more family homes in Diamond Harbour and it has just finished a four bedroom, two bathroom single storey home for a client in Lincoln. The company is also working on another townhouse development project, this time in Woolston in Bamford Street, near The Tannery. Scott is on the look out for his next project and invites people who might have land suitable for development to get in touch to ascertain the suitability of a development partnership with Chalfont Construction.
