It consists of four buildings offering contemporary dining, meeting facilities and health and wellness amenities. The precinct overlooks a serene tarn, inviting people to relax and rejuvenate in the outdoor hot pools. The Adventure Centre within The Homestead houses a gym, outdoor hot pools, a 25-metre lap pool and a reception. Chris says it’s a space designed to serve as the heart of life on the station, fostering a sense of community and adventure. The restaurant and café within The Homestead complement those found in neighbouring towns, and the meeting rooms and workspaces provide a place for work and connection. The Club Room, a members-only space, offers the perfect spot for après-ski drinks, game-watching, or casual gatherings. Chris says the architectural design of The Homestead seamlessly integrates with the dramatic Central Otago landscape, emphasizing the immense mountain and valley panorama. Sustainability is a top priority, with a focus on thermal performance, ground source heat, and other eco-friendly measures to keep the building comfortable year-round. Ownership at Mt Cardrona Station grants exclusive membership to The Station Club, offering a host of benefits including preferential rates on village services, access to workspaces and meeting rooms, and the opportunity to gather at The Club Room. For those who can’t be there year-round, Mt Cardrona Station Resort Limited offers property management services to ensure each home runs smoothly. Positioned adjacent to Cardrona Alpine Resort, Mt Cardrona Station is haven for adventurers and nature enthusiasts. With Soho Basin, Snow Farm and Treble Cone nearby this makes Mt Cardrona Station an ideal location for skiers and snowboarders. Chris says Cardrona Alpine Resort is set to expand its terrain offerings, with additional hectares of skiable land in the Soho Ski Area and further expansion in the Soho Basin, totalling more than 900 hectares of skiable terrain. With a network of 30 kilometres of hiking and biking trails, residents also have plenty of opportunities to explore and connect with nature, from gentle strolls to challenging adventures. “Mt Cardrona Station is committed to kaitiakitanga, the Maori principle of guardianship. Owners and residents are encouraged to protect and preserve the land, rivers, and identity of the area, ensuring it thrives for generations to come,” says Chris. Stage 1 of Mt Cardrona Station is divided into three releases expected to be sold over the next ten years, subject to market demand. Over $50m of property has been sold to date, with first titles issued in November 2023. Construction on the first stage of The Homestead has started, and by early next year the first houses will be built. Work is has also begun on the first stage of the biking and walking trails. “We’re moving into a very exciting phase, the reality coming to fruition,” says Chris. The first stage of The Homestead, which includes The Adventure Centre, the gym and workout spaces, meeting rooms and remote working facilities as well as The Club Room and hot-pools is due for completion in late 2024. A full restaurant, swimming pool, a tennis court, and children’s playground will also be constructed on the station in future stages. As a potential owner at Mt Cardrona Station, Chris says people have the opportunity to be part of a visionary community that celebrates the land’s history and values its pristine beauty. Agent Myles Green at New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty is facilitating sales. “Owners and residents are encouraged to protect and preserve the land, rivers, and identity of the area, ensuring it thrives for generations to come.”
