| 29 Morton Property Group: Mt Cardrona Station REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Construction on the first stage of The Homestead has started, and by early next year the first houses will be built. Apex Water is proud to have designed and constructed the wastewater treatment plant for Mt Cardrona Station, with construction of the membrane water treatment plant now in progress. Apex has delivered on-site treatment plants for developers to support the creation of new subdivisions across New Zealand. We understand this infrastructure is critical to allow sections to be sold and, in many cases, developers cannot wait for local authorities to provide the infrastructure necessary for the reticulation and treatment of wastewater and the supply of drinking water. The costs of such infrastructure can also be prohibitively expensive. As a designer and builder of treatment plants, Apex prefers early contractor involvement in such projects to ensure all water supply, treatment and discharge options are considered and staging requirements are considered. Apex works as part of your team to ensure the treatment processes selected can produce water that meets the New Zealand drinking water standards and wastewater of su icient quality for discharge into the environment, whether this is to land, into water, or a combination of both. Wastewater can be treated to the point where it can be used for the irrigation of communal areas, such as sports ields. Should there be the intention for assets to be vested in a local authority, as is the case with Mt Cardrona Station, Apex ensures that designs meet all engineering speci ications for that authority. Apex completes all project elements to deliver turnkey solutions, including earthworks, buildings that provide spaces for electrical equipment, process plant and sta amenities, chemical storage and dosing, site landscaping, fencing and driveways. In alpine environments, like the Cardrona Valley, Apex incorporates a number of initiatives to ensure wastewater treatment continues to work reliably in the extreme cold, including selection of the treatment process and the use of thermodynamic solar heating systems. Apex also o ers portable treatment solutions for developments where on-site treatment is only required for a short period of time before a local authority connection becomes available. Using this approach, the infrastructure can be removed from site when no longer required and utilised on your next project.
