Cooper Developments - Rolleston Fields “We’re always keen to sit down with prospective tenants to discuss how their business could thrive at Rolleston Fields.” REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT A positive shift in market sentiment this spring is being welcomed at Rolleston Fields after a challenging year across the retail sector. Fresh engagement and renewed interest is providing impetus for the next stage of development at this vibrant retail and hospitality hub in the heart of the Selwyn District. Cooper Developments has been working with the people of Rolleston and the Selwyn District Council to build and shape Rolleston Fields since 2020. Today, the design-led town centre brings together some of the best in dining, retail and lifestyle. Developers Lilly Cooper and her daughter Caroline Cooper-Dixon, of Cooper Developments, are well-known and respected in Selwyn for their extensive commercial and retail property development experience and their focus on providing inspiring spaces for businesses to thrive. Both are excited by what’s ahead for Rolleston Fields. “Two new buildings are currently in the design phase, with footprints tailored to accommodate both national retailers and locally owned businesses,” says Caroline. “The scale will add critical mass – increasing the total floor area while still keeping the design walkable and community-focused. This stage builds on the success of the first, while preparing for the long-term vision of a flourishing town centre. “Our goal is always to add value – not just for tenants but for the wider community. In this stage, that means delivering quality assets built to last, spaces that are energy-efficient and well-designed, and layouts that encourage social connections. Everything is geared towards enabling businesses to thrive long-term.” Flexible leasing options are available, ranging from smaller boutique units to larger-format spaces suited for national retailers, hospitality and service providers. The development has been designed with flexibility in mind, so that businesses can tailor spaces to their individual needs. “We’re always keen to sit down with prospective tenants to discuss how their business could thrive at Rolleston Fields,” Caroline says. Earlier this year, the local community was invited to share their ideas on what they would like to see at Rolleston Fields, with strong backing for more dining options, family-friendly spaces and everyday convenience retailers. Active discussions are now underway with a number of businesses, including some well-known national brands, and Caroline says the tenant mix is shaping up to bring exciting new options across retail, hospitality and services. “Alongside national brands, we’re also committed to finding the right small operators to bring into the mix,” she says. “The level of interest aligns well with what the district is needing, and we’re confident that as each stage is delivered, the right operators will be introduced to complement and strengthen Rolleston Fields.” Even though the market has been challenging, Canterbury has been faring better than other regions over recent months, and Selwyn’s continuous growth means it is particularly well-positioned. “We’re hopeful about the months ahead – we expect to have a number of new leases signed and we’re looking forward to an exciting summer for Rolleston Fields,” says Caroline. Whether to shop or connect with friends, there are plenty of reasons to visit, with council-supported community events adding further energy to the precinct this spring and summer. nexia.co.nz NewZealand We’re here to take your business further.
