Dexion does it best From design and manufacture, to the installation and certi ication of diverse storage solutions, Dexion NZ Ltd is a New Zealand based business focused on supporting New Zealand businesses. Located in all main centres throughout New Zealand, Dexion NZ has been caring for Kiwi businesses for 80 years, through direct representation from its team of skilled sales professionals and installers. “Because we’re based in all the major regions we are no more than two hours away from most businesses in New Zealand,” says Craig Apps, Dexion Sales Manager. “The product o ering we have in the market place is second to none. We take ownership over every decision we make and that’s directly re lected in our market share.” Dexion NZ’s product range encompasses everything from o ice storage units, selective pallet racking in warehouses right through to fully automated software controlled ‘dark’ warehouses which are absent of human involvement. “We’re a really good indicator of where the economy is at. If we’re busy the economy is busy because we deal with everyone from the automotive parts warehouse, a Fonterra plant, Kiwi Fruit grower to a cold storage facility—everybody needs to store product. We’re the business that ensures customers have the smallest, most e icient footprint they require to store the level of product they need to operate.” Craig says face-to-face engagement with the customer enables the Dexion team to design a bespoke solution that best its the customer’s needs. “Once we’ve made contact with the customer we analyse their requirements and design a bespoke it for purpose/best in class o ering to suit their requirements—and that may also require building consents and code of compliance, which we manage from end-to-end.” All storage solutions are manufactured o -shore by Dexion sta in Dexion factories, assuring total quality control. “We also provide our customers with leading edge technology including automation. We’ve just inished putting two automated systems in the Bay of Plenty for Kiwifruit and we’re installing an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) in West Auckland. Fonterra has a 55,000-pallet chilled and frozen storage facility in Hamilton that was semi automated and we’re converting that to a fully automated system.” Dexion’s own innovative ‘Real Time Distribution System’ software programme interfaces with the host system, controlling the automation and con irming back to the host system what it has done. “Because we manufacture the majority of our own product and a certain degree of automation it allows us to innovate products in the market place. A good example of that is the satellite systems we sold to Oceania which are the irst Dexion designed and manufactured satellites in New Zealand. A satellite is a semi-automated piece of equipment that retrieves pallets from deep storage systems.” This year, Dexion developed and released a Base Plate Isolator, which is a damper that absorbs seismic energy in all directions when there is a seismic event—similar to that now being used in the foundations of some buildings in earthquake prone regions. “That is the single biggest innovation in racking in about 50 years and is only available through Dexion.” LONGSPAN SHELVING AUTO SHUTTLE SOLUTIONS SELECTIVE RACKING STORAGE BINS
