70 | BUILDING Brendan Murray Construction T T Karen Phelps BMC extends reach in retirement sector Brendan Murray Construction (BMC) site manager Av Singh and project manager Tom Nyenhuis The solid reputation of Brendan Murray Construction (BMC) in the retirement village sector has seen the company expand its reach regionally to work on projects in Whangarei and Hamilton in addition to Christchurch and Nelson. One of BMC’s directors, Braeden Petrie, says this has come on the back of strong relationships built with clients including Qestral Corporation and Bupa New Zealand. A snapshot of projects that BMC is currently working on includes Burlington Retirement Village and Banbury Park in Christchurch and Coastal View in Nelson for Qestral. Braeden says BMC is waiting on the final stage to complete Burlington Retirement Village and at Banbury Park has completed 37 villas with a further 15 under construction and 11 in for consent waiting to start shortly. At Coastal View BMC has around 15 villas under construction and another 15 under construction at the Bupa Ashford Retirement Village in Prebbleton after having already completed 101 villas over five stages in the last three years. BMC has just started work in Whangarei on Qestral’s care home at Ashbury Heights marking BMC’s growing reach into the commercial aspects of the retirement sector. Further solidifying this it has been awarded the Bupa St Kilda care home extension in Hamilton, due to start in September. Braeden says that BMC’s point of difference is multifaceted spanning an open, transparent pricing model and an ability to adapt to meet client expectations.
