The project's scope includes a 19,200sq m industrial complex for Truck Stops, a 10,300sq m industrial facility for TWL/Motors DC/Hyster New Zealand, a 24,270sq m industrial development for Terra Cat, and a 3,300sq m o ice building for Sime Darby’s new head o ice. Southpark Corporation, which owns and operates Waterloo Business Park, enlisted Colliers Project Leaders partway through the developed design phase to manage the developments through to completion. The team’s innovative procurement strategies enabled all four builds to commence within a three-month period, on pace with the demands of a fast-moving programme. Colliers Project Leaders’ dynamic and hands-on approach to project management enabled design adjustments and tenant requirements to be integrated smoothly during the construction phase minimising disruption on-site, saving on costs, and adding tangible value to the project. “This is a major development comprising four large projects each with their own unique requirements being designed, procured, and constructed simultaneously. Colliers Project Leaders are carefully managing all moving pieces, to deliver a successful outcome for both Southpark and Sime Darby,” says Aaron. “A key challenge we faced was coordinating and integrating client- supplied structural steel with early procurement of key subtrades and eventual novation to the main contractor.
