The company’s facility itself is a testament to their work, featuring a 28-metre span and extending 76 metres in length, offering 3000sqm of floor space. All their buildings are designed and engineered using New Zealand steel and can be built to any size or scale with a customised interior fit-out to suit commercial and industrial purposes of any kind. Delivery manager at Specialised Structures Tasman, Vaughan Cornelius, says from aircraft hangars to implement sheds to habitable spaces, they can handle all aspects of the design and build process, from site visits to pricing to consents and 3D renders, ensuring a smooth and efficient project from start to finish. One significant project involves the construction of modular classrooms for the Ministry of Education (MOE). A recently started project is a seven-module classroom unit destined for Southland. These modular classrooms, made from durable steel portal frames, are designed to be long-lasting and REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT versatile. The interior fit-outs of these modular classrooms are customised to the school’s specific requirements. “The good part about modular classrooms is they can be picked up and moved again and again or can be taken apart and the steel recycled,” says Vaughan. “Whether temporary, transportable or permanent, steel portal buildings are cost-effective and efficient solutions for numerous building needs.” While a significant portion of their business involves supply and build services, about 25% of clients opt for kit sets, which the company fully supports with assembly instructions and phone support.
