Adaptalift Group, Australasia’s largest family owned and operated materials handling company, has made a signi cant entrance into the New Zealand market, bringing with it over four decades of experience in material handling solutions. The company, which expanded its operations to New Zealand around 18 months ago, is quickly establishing itself as a go-to provider for forklift rentals and sales across the country, says Ryan Hosking, Adaptalift's country manager for New Zealand. "We saw there was de nitely a gap in the market – particularly in terms of after-market service and support. Our customers want product reliability as well as great after-sales service, as they can't a ord to have their forklifts sitting around waiting for repairs. The response from the market has been extremely positive." Founded in 1982 by Peter and Margaret Whi en, Adaptalift has grown from a small operation designing and manufacturing forklift attachments to a comprehensive material handling solutions provider. The company now o ers a wide range of equipment, including warehouse forklifts, electric and LPG forklifts, rough terrain 4WD forklifts, scissor lifts, and industrial sweepers and scrubbers. Ryan says a key factor in the company's growth has been its commitment to exibility and responsiveness: "We adapt to our clients' speci c individual needs. It's about having conversations and working with them to nd solutions that work for them." This approach has already yielded success, with Direct Logistics being one of Adaptalift's notable early clients in New Zealand. "The Direct Logistics deal was pretty much done over a handshake," says Ryan. "We committed to providing the solution and service they wanted. We thought outside the box, provided the exibility they needed regarding their eet, and guaranteed we would work with them through todays challenging economic landscape" Adaptalift's entry into the New Zealand market brings with it innovative technology solutions developed by its in-house company, Speedshield Technologies. The company o ers a eet management programme, which allows operators to perform pre-start checks and includes an impact detection system. Additionally it provides an optional pedestrian proximity detection system called AIVA. "AIVA is di erent from most o erings in the market," Ryan explains. "It noti es the operator with a voice prompt and visual cue. It can pick up any human form, whereas almost all other detection systems require the person to wear a tag or hi-vis clothing in order to be detected. So from a health and safety perspective, it’s invaluable as the AIVA system will pick up any human form within the proximity of your forklift”. With its head o ce in Auckland, operations in Christchurch and a country-wide service network, Adaptalift is poised for rapid growth across New Zealand the company prides itself on its culture and people. "We have quality people in our team who genuinely want to help our customers. It's about doing what we say we will and making sure we have the time and resources to service their needs." Looking to the future, Adaptalift plans to launch an apprentice programme, further investing in the local workforce and ensuring a pipeline of skilled technicians to support its growing customer base. Its solutions span 150 di erent models including electric, LPG, rough terrain 4WD forklifts, scissor lifts and access equipment and industrial sweepers and scrubbers. Adaptalift works with clients of all sizes and Ryan sums up Adaptalift's philosophy: "Everything we do is centred on making our customers' lives easier and their businesses safe, e cient, and more successful. We constantly explore and implement new and better ways to deliver the best outcomes for our customers, people, and communities."
