T T Kim Newth “We bring our clients on the journey with us. We have weekly updates and on-site meetings, so they can see progress, ask questions and get feedback.” Founded in 2021 by Cory and Victoria Sinclair, CWS Construction has a small professional team with a passion for personalised service, ensuring a smooth build process from start to finish. Having designed and built their own family home on the outskirts of Ashburton in 2020, the couple understand the desire of others to reach new their home dreams. CWS Construction works hard to build relationships and trust from the start, with open, respectful communication and quality control processes throughout every build. “We don’t just hand over the keys at the end,” says Cory, who took up a building apprenticeship after leaving school, and then worked in construction for a decade before founding CWS Construction. “We bring our clients on the journey with us. We have weekly updates and on-site meetings, so they can see progress, ask questions and get feedback.” With an extensive quality control checklist on every build, CWS Construction is dedicated to excellence in every detail. Victoria plays a vital administrative role at CWS and, like Cory, enjoys watching the transformation as each project unfolds on-site. Also on their team is foreman, Brodie, now in his second year with CWS, and builder, Harry, who recently completed his apprenticeship with them. As well, CWS Construction is currently seeking another builder to join their growing team. Both Cory and Victoria share farming backgrounds, coming from Oamaru and Mt Somers respectively. Around the same time that they purchased their lifestyle property and began building a home in Ashburton, Cory’s parents also decided to build a house in Oamaru. Cory put in long hours on both homes, with the experience proving an ideal grounding for CWS, which has shaped its ongoing evolution as a responsive custom home builder in Mid Canterbury. This has been a busy year for CWS Construction, with a new family home completed in Methven in April and two more in full swing, including one being built for sharemilkers on a local dairy farm. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom Methven home with attached garage was sold as a house- and-land package, architecturally designed for family living and built by the CWS team. A young couple, just starting their family, fell in love with the plans, and after meeting Cory, knew he and his team would put in the hard yards to build the house they wanted. In feedback on the build, the couple spoke highly of how they were kept up to date and were able to walk through the house as construction progressed. Both recommend CWS to others looking to build. “Usually, when you move into a home, there’s one or two things you’d change,” says the Methven client, in a video testimonial. “We’ve been living here for two months now and there’s nothing I could think of that we would have done differently. It has worked really well so far for our family.” CWS offers a range of inspiring house plans to explore that can be readily tailored to suit individual taste, lifestyle and budget. Built on quality workmanship, communication and attention to detail, CWS continues to be dedicated to high-standard project delivery.
