Over the past two decades we have worked together successfully on projects, IT support, and technology strategy to support their growth. Their con dence in us has been the driving force behind our commitment to them – a genuine partnership! We're excited for the future, working together to achieve even greater outcomes. As Christchurch law firm Cavell Leitch celebrates one hundred years of providing exceptional legal services to generations of its clients, the firm reflects on its past, and a proud heritage that has shaped its culture and its future. The firm was founded as a sole practice in 1923 by Arthur Cavell and later became Cavell & Leitch when he joined forces with Tam Leitch in 1938. Ian Pringle and Des Boyle later joined, along with many of Christchurch’s leading lawyers, to form the full-service wellknown Christchurch law firm that we see today, 100 years on. The firm then grew steadily and established itself as a leading force in the Christchurch market, a position the firm continues to hold today. Throughout the decades Cavell Leitch’s guiding values have remained the same. They provide their clients with clear advice and great service. As they head into their second century in business, Cavell Leitch is on a journey working towards being known for providing the most dependable advice and best client service. “We understand that legal matters can be challenging; our role as lawyers is to simplify the process for our clients,” says Michael Dickie, Principal and Board Chairperson for Cavell Leitch. Former Partner Ian Pringle often said “it is a privilege to work with our clients” This strong foundation continues to shape the way they work with our clients today. “When you work with Cavell Leitch you will deal with people who know the law, understand the issues, and are passionate about helping people”. As Cavell Leitch enters its second century, the firm is building on its heritage but with an eye for the future. Customer service is still the driving force, and the firm’s goal is to be New Zealand’s best legal experience for clients. “People come to us when they have a problem that they cannot resolve themselves, or perhaps want to embark on a new venture and need help doing it. It’s up to us to help them move forward. “We work hard to give them timely and practical advice and work alongside our clients along the way by ensuring they understand what is involved. “It is important they can contact us at any time and talk to someone who is relatable. “People have choices, and we see it as a privilege to help them.” “We understand that legal matters can be challenging; our role as lawyers is to simplify the process for our clients.” Now employing around 75 staff, Cavell Leitch has worked hard to foster a workplace culture that values both clients and each other. “Workplace culture is a massive focus for Cavell Leitch. We share common values and provide an environment where everyone can really succeed and thrive. We are a firm that wants to give our staff every opportunity to learn and grow, get treated well, and it’s a great place to work.” Cavell Leitch has developed over the years to become a full-service law firm. and boasts recognised experts practicing business and commercial law, property law, trusts and estates, relationships law, immigration and employment law, dispute resolution and litigation.
