108 | Good business relationships Bragg Building & Design employs 12 trade staff and has delivered hundreds of new builds and renovations projects for private and corporate clients, government agencies and various other organisations. T T from page 106 Bragg Building & Design BUILDING Shahn reflects over the past 10 years with a lot of pride and a degree of surprise about what the business has been able to achieved to date, and especially to be so busy during an economic downturn. “I never thought we would be where we are today. It’s really cool to see that all happen; onwards and upwards, let’s see what we can now create over the next 10 years.” “It’s been part of our success, is just continuing to gain those sorts of clients. The diversification and the wide variety of work that we and our team do just allows us to please our clients. We are those ‘yes’ people that know what they need and just get it done.” “Whether it’s Bragg Building or with Wide Span Sheds, were are able to diversify in all the offerings that we’ve got. We also have a great range of subcontractors that come along with us to help us achieve good results.” This, combined with creating a good track record, inevitably leads to more work which is the case with three new homes built by Bragg Building & Design in Eden Crescent for Kāinga Ora, to which Shahn has an unexpected connection. “I actually grew up in a house next door to them when I was a kid so. I never thought I would be building houses next door and running a business of this size.” Bragg Building & Design held an open day for the houses late June with Waverley Park School and involved its pupils in placing plants throughout the landscaped garden areas. Although it is a high bar to win Government and corporate tenders and requires the submission of a lot of supporting documentation, “having a go and putting the business out there has paid off,” Shahn says. The company recently completed a residential home in Invercargill that is being entered in the Registered Master Builders House of the Year competition. Shahn built a house for the client about 15 years ago with his former employer. “They are very particular and they know they way they like things and its actually the 10th house that they’ve built and they chose us to do it.” New Zealand’s largest supplier of Certified Concrete, Masonry, Paving, Concrete Retaining wall systems and Dricon® bagged concrete. 100% proud to supply Bragg Building & Design. 0800 FIRTH 1 | 0800 CONCRETE | FIRTH.CO.NZ TRUSTED NAME IN CONCRETE.
