Crosbie Construction BUILDING A shared vision can bring together a world of possibilities, something the team at Crosbie Construction prides itself on. Owner/manager Mark Crosbie has brought many projects to life throughout his almost 30-year career, ensuring each clients’ dreams are crafted into stunning realities, including new builds and renovations. One project in particular is a family home in Otatara, which features on the organisation’s Facebook page, showcasing the true meaning of transformation, with the original abode remodelled into an inviting modern home. “That particular house was a client’s family home where her parents had lived so she wanted to keep the existing part, but add and transform.” The project involved a delicate balance of maintaining the original structure’s charm and integrating new, transformative elements. One of Mark’s specialities is his ability to build strong relationships with clients to determine what they want from their build. His years of experience also means he has a solid understanding of what works and what doesn’t. That expertise is particularly valuable in turning dreams into reality, ensuring that every project reflects the client’s aspirations. Mark, who established Crosbie Construction in Invercargill 16 years ago, said while some people were committed to building bigger houses, others were turning to smaller designs, but with a higher spec. “This is cost driven from the rising building costs etc. Bigger houses are for people where the budget may not be an issue and have a bigger section.” He said in Southland, the building industry remains resilient, largely unaffected by economic downturns that impact other regions. However, the construction industry’s nationwide challenges in recent times, particularly with cost increases and material shortages, is something Mark learned to manage. “It meant I had to be really organised, have good communication and work jobs around the delays.” That stability has allowed Crosbie Construction to continue thriving, taking on projects not just locally but also in Central Otago for client’s Mark already has a rapport with. Crosbie Construction is currently working on a house on the outskirts of Invercargill, and like all projects, it was something Mark was keen to see come together so the clients could move in and enjoy everything it has to offer. Crosbie Construction not only specialises in new builds and renovations, but also sheds, decks, and light commercial work. Mark started his building career straight out of school, followed by an apprenticeship in Balclutha and a few years building in London. Now he has his own business firmly established, which is supported by a dedicated team of three “hard working” guys, including one qualified builder and two apprentices who are nearing the completion of their training. The future looks promising for Crosbie Construction, with several projects in the pipeline and a team that has the drive to create beautiful, functional homes. As Crosbie Construction continues to grow and thrive, its commitment to turning architectural dreams into reality ensures that each project is a testament to quality, dedication, and client satisfaction. 03 217 6158 admin@amtec.net.nz 69 Eye St, Invercargill www.amtec.net.nz At AMTEC Electrical we are totally committed to supplying a service that consistently meets the requirements of our customers.
