The franchise is focused on helping residents navigate the region’s challenging property market. “....homeowners are looking for ways to offset mortgage costs in an area known for its high property values.” REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT A growing trend in Central Otago and Queenstown are home and income properties, which are reshaping the way locals approach home ownership, says Mark Carter, managing director of Jennian Homes Central Otago and Queenstown. Under new management since April 2023, the franchise is at the forefront of this shift, with a focus on home and income builds that are helping residents navigate the region’s challenging property market. “Two out of three homes we build are home and incomes,” says Mark. “This trend reflects the region’s unique housing needs, where homeowners are looking for ways to offset mortgage costs in an area known for its high property values.” The company’s new display home at 37 Jack Hanley Drive in Queenstown’s Hanley’s Farm showcases this concept. It features a three-bedroom main house complemented by a one-bedroom unit, complete with its own bathroom and kitchen. The display home’s design, with its pavilion style reflecting the surrounding mountain environment, demonstrates how these dual-living spaces can be both functional and aesthetically pleasing, says Mark. “It has a great outlook for the living area and a nice private barbecue alfresco outdoor area. There’s good indoor-outdoor flow. It’s all open plan living, which then goes to a master bedroom with an ensuite. “The interior design is a mix of complementary materials, textures, and colours, while the exterior cladding comprises warm-toned vertical timber contrasted by a dark-toned plaster system that incorporates external insulation.” Jennian Homes is capitalising on this demand for home and income properties with three new options, two soon to be released to the market. Ranging from around $1.4 million to $2 million, one package offers a three-bedroom home plus a two-bedroom flat, while the other combines a three-bedroom home with a one-bedroom flat. There is also a three bedroom house and land package option available now. He says the quality focus of its team, which includes in-house builders and a sales consultant/interior designer who assists with the design process, has been key in building a reputation for delivering great homes to clients. This commitment to quality is backed by Jennian Homes’ industry-leading 36-month defects warranty and their 100% completion promise; ensuring homes are completed according to the terms of the signed Master Builders Residential Contract. The Central Otago and Queenstown franchise is owned by a group of directors including Mark, and Shane and Carl Hamilton who are also the owners of the Jennian Homes Southland branch. This connection to the Southland branch brings additional expertise and resources to the Central Otago and Queenstown operation. The Hamilton brothers have built a reputation in Southland for crafting high-quality homes from Gore to Te Anau, and this experience is now benefiting the Central Otago and Queenstown regions. Mark, a builder by trade with around 25 years of experience, brings hands-on knowledge to his role as managing director. Under the new management, the franchise has seen increased activity and is exploring new areas of business. As part of the nationally recognized Jennian Homes brand, which has been building quality homes for New Zealanders for over 40 years, the franchises benefit from extensive resources and support. This allows them to offer a diverse range of customisable house and land packages, tailored to fit various lifestyles and preferences. From sleek contemporary designs to more traditional styles, Mark says that Jennian Homes aims to integrate cutting-edge design with the natural beauty of Central Otago, Queenstown and Southland landscape. In addition to house and land packages and spec homes, the franchises build on clients’ own land or helps clients source the perfect site. The company’s approach to the building process is comprehensive and client-focused. “At Jennian Homes, we believe in making the building process as enjoyable as possible and are the only company to offer a completion promise guarantee,” Mark says. “From the initial consultation to the final handover, our team is with our clients every step of the way, offering expert advice and support.” • Br icklaying • Block Laying • Plaster ing • Stone • Paving Southland & Central Otago Phone Brennan 027 372 8296 | melvinmasonryl td@gmai l .com Industrial • Commercial • Residential “Quality Solutions delivered on Time” INVERCARGILL QUEENSTOWN DUNEDIN CHRISTCHURCH Proudly supporting Jennian Homes
