MANUFACTURING SKOPE Refrigeration T T Karen Phelps Producing quality products is the lynchpin of SKOPE Refrigeration’s drive for sustainability across its range, says company managing director Guy Stewart. “It’s the long-term cost of life and sustainability that counts when it comes to commercial refrigeration solutions,” he says. “Our products will last many years compared with competitor products that may need replacing multiple times in that period. “The environmental and commercial implications of buying quality that lasts rather than throwing away lots of products are significant.” SKOPE Refrigeration is proud to be a New Zealand company with international supply chains. The family-owned business based in Christchurch, has become a global leader in premium commercial refrigeration solutions, proving that a focus on long-term value and environmental responsibility is a recipe for success. SKOPE’s commitment to quality and service is backed by industry-leading warranties, reflecting the company’s confidence in its products’ durability. The company’s commitment to sustainability is multifaceted. SKOPE has achieved Toitū carbonreduce certification, demonstrating its dedication to measuring and reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. This certification aligns with international best practices and covers a wide range of activities, from electricity and fuel usage to staff commuting and product energy consumption in the market. Guy says the company’s research and development team, based in New Zealand, continually innovates to improve energy efficiency and environmental friendliness without compromising performance. The environmental and commercial implications of buying quality that lasts rather than throwing away lots of products are significant.” The company’s global reach is impressive for a New Zealand-based business. With operations in China and Australia in addition to its home base, SKOPE employs around 300 people across these countries with the majority of staff in New Zealand. Its products are used in hotel/restaurant/ catering, food service franchises and quick service restaurants,, beverage merchandising and other commercial settings worldwide, supported by SKOPE’s comprehensive service model. “We’re a one-stop shop from supply and funding of purchases to maintenance and repairs of products. This holistic approach includes innovative features like the SKOPE Connect system, which allows remote monitoring of products. “We can detect an issue and send a service person in to take a look before it becomes a performance issue for the owner. A recent example is that we could see that a new product we had supplied wasn’t working optimally, so we sent someone out and could see that it hadn’t been installed correctly. The issue was solved before it became an issue for that business.” New products are also constantly being added to the range including recently becoming the New Zealand and Australian master agent for Vitamix commercial blenders, which will be sold through dealer channels to commercial businesses. As SKOPE continues to expand its presence, Guy says it remains true to its New Zealand roots and family values. The company, which began over 50 years ago under the leadership of his father Sir Robert Stewart, continues to be family-owned, with Guy answering to a board that includes his parents Sir Robert and Lady Barbara Stewart. “With on-going product development, a strong focus on quality, and a commitment to reducing environmental impact, SKOPE Refrigeration aims to continue to make a positive global impact.” INNOVATIVE PLASTIC SOLUTION PROVIDERS FOR YOUR BUSINESS.
