REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Todd Mudie Group It’s been a busy 12 months for Timaru-based trades specialists Todd Mudie Group – and things don’t look slowing down for the firm. Business development manager Braden Hopkins says the group was flat out across all of its trades, which include Gib fixing and stopping, painting, tiling, flooring, and exterior plastering. And some key projects have been completed, he says. “The standout projects have been our exterior repaints of heritage buildings, including several prominent sites along Timaru’s main street, the Caroline Bay Tea Rooms, and most recently the iconic Caroline Bay Hall.” The team thrives on this kind of work, he says. “This type of work is important to us because it’s about more than just a coat of paint – it’s about breathing life back into buildings that hold a place in the community’s history, making sure they’re preserved for future generations, and contributing to the revitalisation of the (city centre).” The group has made access to trades simple through its centralised ops hub that is a single point of contact for clients and customers, keeping projects running smoothly, making communication simple for clients and builders, and allowing easy management of multiple trades. A number of projects are in the pipeline, which Braden says is not only a sign of positive activity in the region, but also the result of the hard work and dedication of the team. “By building genuine, strong relationships, delivering on commitments, and maintaining a standard of reliability, we’ve earned the trust of clients and builders, who come back to us time and again. That reputation keeps our team working steadily across South Canterbury, the Mackenzie District, and North Otago.” The group has built highly skilled and cohesive teams across its specialist divisions, all streamlined by the ops hub that takes care of scheduling, quality control, and communication. Todd Mudie Group had its beginnings 23 years ago as a small interior plastering business. It has since grown to a team of over 50. Braden says it is how the group operates that sets it apart: “Looking after our people, doing the job right the first time, and supporting our community.” It has nurtured strong, collaborative partnerships with numerous builders, contractors, and suppliers across the region. The combination of modern equipment and processes in each trade allows the group to deliver high-quality work efficiently and consistently. “We’re always looking for better ways to work, staying ahead of the curve with the tools, systems, and technology we use,” says Braden. “That mix of the right people, the right systems, and the right attitude is what’s kept us moving forward for more than two decades.” The group is a major contributor to the region’s economy, directly supporting over 50 families. And the flow-on effects reach well beyond the team, Braden says. “Every project we complete, whether it’s a home, commercial space, or community facility, adds value to the district and keeps investment circulating locally.” It also gives back to the community through sponsorships, donations, and hands-on help for local charities and organisations, from backing youth mentorship through the Big Buddy Programme to supporting the South Canterbury Rugby “Love Rugby” kids’ holiday programme. It regularly supports initiatives and organisations such as the Christmas Angels project, Raptor Trust, Street Cats, Pound Paws Rescue, the South Canterbury Drama League, St John, Heart Kids, and Cancer Society. “We’re committed to making sure our success benefits the people and places around us. Supporting our community isn’t a side project for us, it’s at the heart of why we’re in business,” says Braden. “Our mission is to support our team, their families, and the community, and the way we engage with local charities and organisations is a big part of that. “For us, it’s simple. The community has supported us for more than 20 years, and we believe in putting that support back where it matters most.” Proudly Supporting Todd Mudie Group Proudly supporting Todd Mudie Group P: 0800 278 663 E: info@classicstone.co.nz NZ’s Premium Stone Veneer
