They are all interconnected and true sustainability is when all three aspects are in balance.” “I guess I get a bit of a buzz out of the farmer interaction, and it is very rewarding to see a farmer work through the process and to become certified and add value to their farm system. “You can’t beat being out on the road and getting on-farm. There’s a lot of country either side of State Highway 1 and the job takes you down some roads that you wouldn’t otherwise go. I’m very lucky to work with some awesome farmers, who are doing really great things.” Imogen believes farmers do not give themselves enough appreciation for what they do, and for what they are achieving long-term. “There wouldn’t be another occupation that requires so many skills and demands wearing so many hats, often all in a single day, while managing the biggest factor they have no control over – Mother Nature. “And still they produce top-quality products on land they steward with great pride.
