Brand-new, custom-built premises for Christchurch-based Advanced Joinery are a literal showcase of the company’s own talents, with them having fitted out their own new office and factory space within the 1400sqm premises on Avenger Crescent, Wigram. The decision to relocate the 40-year-old joinery company from its original Watts Road premises in Sockburn came soon after Darrin and Amanda Dudson bought the business from previous owners, Greg and Leigh Ayers, who were ready to explore new pathways. “Advanced Joinery has a 40-year history of award-winning joinery craftsmanship,” says managing director Darrin. “It had operated from Sockburn since its inception; however, with such promising prospects for the future it became clear that more space would be needed. The old factory served its purpose well, but our team was packed in, and the building no longer reflected the excellent standard of work they were producing.” They were keen to move in quickly, he says, and Thompson Construction & Engineering of Timaru rose to the challenge. Their incredibly high standards, combined with their reliability and commitment to timelines, made the build a seamless experience. They’re the experts, so we chose to showcase their talent within the workplace, and their input superbly illustrates how talented they all are.” That creativity is backed by a remarkable depth of experience, says Darrin. “Our new space allows us to properly demonstrate what we do best.
