T T Karen Phelps One call does it all with Manor Property Services, the Nelson business that has built its reputation on offering an exceptionally broad range of services under one roof. This gives homeowners, businesses, retirement villages and property managers access to virtually every trade they need through a single company. “We’ll do something as small as mend a window latch right through to building a house,” says director, Andrew Dumville. “Customers love the convenience of making one phone call and knowing we can coordinate everything from start to finish.” What began nearly two decades ago with little more than a trailer and a wheelbarrow has grown into one of the region’s most diverse property service providers. Today, the company employs a team of qualified builders and experienced tradespeople operating from its expansive 2000sqm Tahunanui Drive base. Its impressive list of services includes property maintenance, commercial and residential cleaning, painting and decorating, carpentry, gardening, arborist work, roof treatments, building washing, gutter cleaning, window cleaning, biohazard cleaning, kitchen design and joinery, gardening, landscaping and fencing, as well as asbestos testing and removal. Andrew says bringing so many specialist services together means clients save both time and effort. “We often hear people say how easy it was to get several jobs completed by one company,” he says. “Whether that’s gardening, hedge trimming and a roof wash, or cleaning combined with maintenance work, we can do it all.” The company’s capability has expanded significantly since starting, with the addition of several complementary businesses that strengthen its offering even further. Among them is Designer Specialty Kitchens, offering bespoke kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and custom cabinetry from design and manufacture through to installation. A recent addition is Elevate X, a building company established two years ago by Andrew and licensed building practitioner, Matt Todd as a joint owner, while Asbestos Nelson Ltd, jointly owned by Andy and Chris Barley has also come on board. The specialist business provides asbestos testing, surveys, management plans and licensed removal services throughout Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough before handing projects back to the wider team for rebuilding and remediation work. It’s been a side of the business that has been incredibly busy, especially as anyone doing a renovation project now is legally required to get an asbestos survey done before starting. “Having our own in-house asbestos company also gives us a huge advantage over our entire business,” says Andrew. “Our staff understand where asbestos may be present and can identify potential risks before work even begins, helping keep everyone safe. That expertise allows jobs to progress more smoothly, while ensuring strict compliance with Health and Safety requirements.” Andrew says the goal has always been to make things easy for clients by providing a genuinely complete solution. “We want to be the people customers think of first whenever something needs doing around their property,” he says. “It doesn’t matter whether it’s cleaning, painting, tree work, asbestos removal, a new kitchen or a major building project, we have the people and expertise to get it done.”
