Neighbourhood Support Waitakere & North Shore 2024/25

Manaaki Street Events Neighbourhood Support groups are our 24/7 community connectors. Whether you hold your own street group event where everyone contributes or you utilise the local boards grants available in your area. The best and most rewarding feeling is connecting with our neighbours with a shared kai. Tara Road — Tara Road group held their annual get together. Everyone brought something to share for the kai tables and there was a feast of food, as diverse as the people who live on the street. Once again, the local Church and Church Family provided the space to hold this event, plus they organised an Ice-cream truck, candy floss machine, pop corn machine, free raffles and a bouncy castle. Everyone had a fabulous time. Miltonia Ave & Orchid Place — The residents held their annual Neighbours Day BBQ on Saturday in early March. The late afternoon BBQ had around 50 residents in attendance. Everyone brought a dish to share and once again HendersonMassey Local Board grant was applied for to supply the bread, meat, sauce and salads. Their local resident ice-cream vendor supplied free icecreams for everyone who attended. Make your Street a Manaaki Street—Contact us for more information!
