The building represents a period of strong growth and development for the business, which prides itself on focussing on the good basics in service; honesty, easy open communication, solid, sound advice in a timely way and a passion for helping their clients succeed. “Our motto is ‘helping passionate business owners achieve their goals doing what they love’ and we’re intent on ensuring this is always our aim,” says Aaran. He’s joined in the conversation with Marko who says having known Aaran before the business was established meant they knew they shared common goals. “We got together in late 2016 and I came on board in April 2017, beginning as an employee on the understanding that if it worked out I would come into a partnership, which is what we have now. It’s been a great journey!” says Marko. The team that has been built up is incredibly important to Aaran and Marko. They’ve been prudent as to who has come on board, keen to always retain the common culture that makes the business tick today. When the opportunity, back in 2019 came up to buy some undeveloped land it set the course to plan for the eventual development of their own business centre, in a spot both consider ideal. With a section area covering 3000m2 there’s plenty of room for car parking near the building, leaving some additional space for possible future development. “We’re a team of 17 now and one of the things that’s important to us is to actively involve the team in the big decisions, and we did this during the time of planning what our new home would look and feel like,” Aaran says. Put simply, ‘office culture is paramount’. There’s very much an open-plan collaborative shared space feel to the layout. Neither Aaran nor Marko are the sort that would find them as directors, tucked away in their own offices. “We want to grow the team as demand and opportunity presents, and this building has room for more to join in time,” says Marko. Opened in July 2025, it seemed only fitting to celebrate this milestone event with a celebration. The team that has been built up is incredibly important to Aaran and Marko. Some 300 or so people were invited to come along, check out the new spaces and enjoy the hospitality on offer. Extending over some 450m2, careful thought was given to the layout, fixtures and fittings and especially to easy flow and access. Advanced Accounting offers an array of services across all sectors and a special passion is the dairying sector. “We love dairy farming because we understand how much intrinsic value there is in a farming business at many levels. They’re often a family’s life over several generations and succession planning is something we’re especially passionate about supporting our farming clients with,” says Aaran. When succession conversations happen, they’re long-term in nature and Aaran and Marko say key to positive outcomes is to ensure the right people are around the table when these conversations take place. “We have lawyers and bankers sitting with us and the family as these discussions happen, so that everyone’s valid opinion is in the mix. This is how the best outcomes are arrived, as succession is often a complex and emotionally charged process,” says Aaran. Marko and Aaran also know that farmers are very loyal to the people around them when it is a generational business. “We want everyone to understand it all.
