These means also in current times of unprecedented frequency of supply chain disruptions, NCI stands out in being able to deliver at unparalleled speed. The company is the only can manufacturer in New Zealand certified to FSSC22000 which provides a framework for the safe supply of infant formula cans. Because the visual brand appeal of a product is vital, NCI have invested in high quality end-to-end decoration technologies for both metal and plastic: multi-colour lithographic printing directly onto tinplate, dry off-set printing of aluminium aerosols and in-mould labelling for injection moulded plastic containers. “Our tinplate cans are fully recyclable within NZ. We are also playing our part in terms of helping to reducing the carbon footprint, with all our operations of coating, printing, end-making, and can making carried out under the same roof. Our new state-of-the-art plant has allowed us to use less energy and generate less CO2 than our old legacy plant. Production and storage space utilisation efficiency has improved quite significantly. We are looking also at further downgauging our cans and ends.
