SealesWinslow is 100% New Zealand owned and operated, and from its manufacturing sites in Morrinsville, Whanganui and Ashburton it supplies a wide range of pelletised and bulk feed throughout New Zealand. Following the acquisition of 51% of the company in 2011, Ballance Agri-Nutrients in 2013 moved to full ownership of SealesWinslow. The company has made a sizeable investment in its mills, which are strategic in terms of their production capability, capacity, and locations. In addition to its bulk products, bagged products, molasses mineral blocks and mineral supplements are available either direct from its manufacturing sites or selected Ballance service centres and distribution hubs. Selected products can also be accessed through over 200 rural merchant stores across the country, including NZ Farm Source, PGG Wrightson, Farmlands and Ruralco. In order to maintain product quality, SealesWinslow’s mills have developed effective quality control systems that cover raw material sourcing, formulations, manufacturing, storage, transport and finished product testing. Nutrition and quality manager Natalie Hughes says the power of the pellet, especially when compared to raw grain, is that the manufacturing process makes the nutrition inherent in the grain more available to animals while also increasing digestibility. “We have a national offering within our dairy range, and we also have regional offerings which factor in what is more locally sourced. All of those are sold on-spec for energy, protein, starch, fat and fibre.” In addition, there is the option to customise the ingredients of pellets according to individual requirements.
