LIC®s herd management system MINDA® is used by around 90% of dairy farmers to update their animal records and get insights from this data to make informed herd management decisions. LIC has recently released a new MINDA Improvement Roadmap which outlines the key features the co-op plans to add to MINDA LIVE and the MINDA App based on feedback from their farmer shareholders. The Roadmap includes improvements to a number of areas in MINDA including NAIT compliance, Reporting, Groups and Animal Health. The latest new features which are now live in MINDA include: Viewing the Animal Summary fromwithin Groups and Reports When you’re creating or viewing a group or report, you can click on any animal ID in the group to see a summary of information for the animal. Alternatively, in the top right corner you’ll also see a new box with ‘Animal search’ where you can type the cow number, birth ID or electronic ID (EID) of the animal you’re looking for. This saves you time as you no longer need to navigate away from the page to ind this helpful information. Removed Animals in Group Pro ile and CustomReports There is a new group you’re able to select when creating a Group Pro ile or Custom report called ‘Whole Herd including Historic’. When you choose this group, your report will show all animals that are current in your herd, as well as animals that have been removed in the last 3 seasons. Including these animals gives you a more complete view of your herd during the selected date range. Holding Pen badge To help you keep on top of events that need to be approved, a small red icon has been added to the Holding Pen tile in the MINDA App so you can see how many events need approving from the home screen.
