The Orion group operates a vast network which provides quality, specialist transport and logistics services to a wide range of NZ based customers (primarily across the Dairy and Poultry business sectors). Our group of companies are proudly New Zealand owned and operated. Glen Mackay (Managing Director) commenced operation as an Owner/Driver with one truck, and over the past 19 years has achieved signi icant growth through both increased natural sales growth within the dairy industry and strategic acquisitions. Orion Haulage Limited was established in 2001 and is the founding company within the group. Since then, as a business we have sought to expand and diversify our operations and have added other companies and ventures as speci ic opportunities have arisen. Orion Haulage currently employs 75 permanent sta members (plus seasonal workers) and operates a leet of approximately 60 trucks. Orion Haulage specialises in cartage of stock feed from raw material stores and feed mills direct to farms in the greater central and lower North Island regions. Additionally, Orion Haulage has added the transport of molasses and liquid dairy factory by-products to its transport capability. Our leet of trucks consists of Auger Trucks (for illing silos) and Bulk Liquid Tankers (delivering molasses and factory by-products to farms and industrial customers). Orion Haulage o ers specialised services throughout Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Central North Island, Northland, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Manawatu, Taranaki regions and further Feed Delivery into Silos and Tanks a ield if required. We have leet units strategically placed, with established depots in Morrinsville (Head O ice), New Plymouth, Auckland, Tauranga and Palmerston North. We also operate a fully equipped Workshop facility across multiple locations with a combination of experienced mechanics and engineers. Our workshop completes the majority of all maintenance and repair requirements for our northern leet and is additionally chartered with the refurbishment, construction and assembly of both new and existing leet units.
