NZ Dairy Winter 2021

118 | nz dairy Exceeding expectations company’s goal Kelly Deeks A fter 19 years experience in the dairy industry, Innes Richardson established Milking & Water Systems (MWS) to provide services to dairy farmers that would give them as much information as possible, and deliver product that would exceed their expectations. The team at MWS concentrates on providing the dairy industry with both the servicing of existing milking, water and dairy effluent systems along with new builds of all these systems. Starting initially without a milking machine agency or dealership, in 2019 MWS was granted an agency for Waikato Milking Systems, and a dealer- ship in 2020. “This has allowed us to supply the most up-to- date milking equipment to our customers,” Innes says. He says Waikato Milking Systems is the last solely New Zealand owned designer and manufac- turer of milking systems, and the company works hard to keep its products designed and built in New Zealand. “Waikato Milking Systems is always trying to be at the top of its game with cutting edge products. And not just cutting edge for the rest of the world, but cutting edge for New Zealand farmers and their requirements both now, and in the future.” In 2020, with the assistance of Richard Palmer, MWS established its own engineering division, Rotary Platform Maintenance. “Richard can find so- lutions to a whole range of agricultural engineering problems, which is an absolute priority for farmers who are undertaking shed projects,” Innes says. Richard has been building and maintaining rotary platforms for 28 years. He specialises in making repairs to platforms and building new platforms, sometimes in smaller existing spaces, to allow MWS’ clients to get the most out of their existing infrastructure.
