Dairy farming a leap of faith for award-winning couple • from page 30 boutique lodges together, before entering the dairy industry in 2009. “We couldn’t see a future that would lead to us owning a lodge, so when a farm assistant position came up on Renee’s parents’ farm I said, ‘can I come and work for you’?” Phil and Diane were pleased to give Todd a start on their home farm at Reporora; there has been no looking back since then. Today, Phil and Diane are still busy managing the home farm while meeting regularly with Todd and Renee to discuss the equity farm and overall strategy.
