From its humble beginnings with founder Geoff Read starting out as a sole trader, it has grown into a company of approximately 30 staff and is still predominantly owned by the Read family. The firm takes projects from inception, through design, consent, pricing and then construction. The company is vertically integrated with in-house design capacity, a kitchen joinery workshop, a pre-cast concrete yard and a team of carpenters working on residential, commercial and rural projects. It carries out carpentry components of the projects in house rather than sub-contracting the framing, roofing, concreting. “This enables us to control the quality of all aspects of the project,” director and thrid- generation family member Lachlan Read told Business South. With a joinery workshop, it can craft bespoke joinery solutions for any kind of space, from cosy residential kitchens to expansive commercial office fitouts. The team specialises in creating custom cabinetry, wardrobes, staircases, vanities, and furniture, tailored for any preferences. The joinery workshop is equipped to handle projects of all sizes, from intricate details to large-scale installations. “What sets us apart is our seamless integration of building and joinery expertise. Not only do we design and fabricate your joinery pieces, but we also handle the installation process, ensuring a hassle-free renovation experience,” Lachlan said. The team delivers commercial construction from office fit-outs to heritage building refurbishment, right through to tilt slab/portal frame construction. They have completed a wide variety of commercial buildings including - office buildings, industrial workshops, retail shops and office fit-outs. Mid Canterbury is an agriculture epicentre and the firm has completed a wide range of rural buildings that have assisted the agriculture sector in improving productivity and performance. Its experience in rural construction extends from pole sheds, hay sheds, implement sheds and pump sheds to dairy sheds and grain drying facilities.
