Multi Employer Approach This is a requirement in the Act for claims to multiple employers. Remember, if you are an ECC member and have not asked us to represent you, you are responsible for negotiating with NZEI or Mr Haynes directly and otherwise meeting the requirements of the Act. NZEI’s claim can be dealt with collectively; but Mr Haynes’ claim has to be dealt with by each individual employer named (at this stage and time of publication). NZEI Visits to Centres Finally, we have been made aware by a number of centres that approaches are being made by the Teacher’s union, NZEI, to visit and speak to staff. The law says if you receive a request from the union, you cannot unreasonably withold permission.
